NREP/ 2011 ENVIRONMENTAL AWARDS

In 2011 NREP will present dual awards to the NREP applicant and the key organization involved in the activity.  All award applicants must be active NREP certified professionals, who were involved in the actual projects completed between July 1, 2010 and July 31, 2011, as an owner’s representative, consultant, supplier, constructor, or inventor.  The other awards will be given to the principal organization involved in the program, whether it is the facility, government agency, consultant or constructor. 

DEADLINE: The project nomination submission deadline is August 31, 2011.   All entries must be e-mailed or postmarked no later than August 31, 2011

 AWARD CATEGORIES

·         QUALIFYING TYPES of projects may be recycling, Brownfields redevelopment, environmental improvements, pollution prevention/waste minimization, decontamination, industrial hygiene, natural resources/habitat conservation/preservation, Homeland security, human/animal health improvement/protection, cost savings, environmental management systems, materials or methods improvements and others. 

·         AWARD SUBMISSIONS:  Submissions must be an abstract of up to 350 words.  Documentation supporting the 350 word abstract should be limited to 20 pages maximum. Submitted materials will NOT be returned.

JUDGING

Entries will be judged by a committee of NREP professionals based on the following order of importance:

• Degree of improvement independent of project size
• Innovation/discovery/inventiveness
• Operating and economic efficiencies and cost savings
• Integration with other site environmental or operational elements
• Beneficial effects beyond the building/facility/site/company
• Advancement and recognition of environmental and safety professionalism

ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION:  All submissions must be in electronic format, by e-mail attachment, or mailed CD. For e-mail submissions, use nrepawards@yahoo.com.  The e-mail "sent" date is the submission date.

WORD PROCESSING:  Submitters must use Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).  Submitters must use Arial, Times New Roman or Courier fonts, in size 10 or 12, single spaced between lines and double-spaced between paragraphs, single sided page format.

APPLICANT INFORMATION:  Eligibility is limited to all NREP registrant(s) worldwide, working in industry, government, or other organizations or individually at any location.

• Submit an abstract up to 350 words and no more than 20 pages of supporting materials.  Attach photos, diagrams, charts, etc.
• DEADLINE for award entry submission is August 31, 2010 for projects that will be completed by July 31, 2011

AWARDS

• Presentations will be made at NREP’s Grand Reception, on October 4, 2011 at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.  You, or your designated representative,  must be present to receive your award.
